2009 Mower Rules

Driver Safety
Minimum age – 13-18 years of age.  Drivers under 18 need parents consent form signed by parent.  Must have a responsible adult at track while racing.
Full face or motorcross helmets required. Must have adequate eye protection. 
Neck braces are required. 
Gloves are highly recommended. 
Over the ankle foot wear is required. 
Full length pants required. 
Both hands are to remain on the steering wheel during green flag racing. 
Drivers will wear kill switch at all times mower is in motion.   
Tether style kill switch required. 
Chest protector highly recommended. 
Mower Build
Any commercially produced front engine, four wheel lawn mower. Factory equipped transaxle type mowers only. 
Must use stock frame with hood, fenders, and all panels securely mounted.
Mower decks or mower deck is required to protect feet from ground.
Blades must be removed. 
Glass headlights must be removed. 
Must use commercially produced lawn mower seat unaltered and safely mounted on mower.  
May lower mower to minimum of 4”. Measured at lowest point of main frame of mower. Notching of frame or altering of brackets to achieve ride height is Ok.    
Front and rear track width may not exceed 38". 
May not offset front or rear axles. 
Front axle must be securely mounted to frame.
Front axle and spindles may be improved or custom built.
Wheels on front spindles must be pinned, bolted or welded. 
Hub on rear axles must be pinned, bolted, or welded. 
Steering wheel needs to be safely centered on mower. 
Must use hand throttle.
Throttle must automatically retract to closed position. 
Throttle cable must be secured and may not extend outside any part of mower. 
Brakes must be capable of stopping mower in a safe distance and manner. 
No clutches of any kind, other than manual spring disengage pulley type.
Engine must remain centered on mower. 
Engines 
Any single cylinder Flathead, 13.5 hp or less, vertical shaft engine.  No OHV engines.
*Engines must remain completely stock*
 Must use unaltered stock flywheel.
 Must use unaltered stock camshaft (no after-market cams).
 Must use unaltered stock carburetors (no after-market carbs).
Engine must start with electric starter or pull cord. 
Flywheel cover must be secured for protection. 
Pump gas only. No alcohol.
May remove or disconnect factory governor assembly.
May use any type air cleaner assembly.
May advance timing.
May use any exhaust header pointing downward and away.  
Tires & Wheels
Turf and Racing treaded  tires only. No slicks.
May use steel or aluminum wheels.  
May run stagger between left and right side. No more than 2” allowed.
General
All mowers are subject to pretech and post tech.
Mowers must be safe and set up for the rigors of racing. 
Mowers must display contrasting numbers on each side, on front, and rear. 
There will be no rough driving tolerated.
No profanity decals or vulgar language displayed.
Track officials reserve the right to Disqualify  any mower not in compliance.
                                                    
                                                         Superstock Mower
Driver Safety
Minimum age – 18 years old, current drivers license or 16 if voted in by majority of drivers.
Full face or motorcross helmets required. Must have adequate eye protection. 
Neck braces are required. 
Gloves are highly recommended. 
Over the ankle foot wear is required. 
Full length pants required. 
Both hands are to remain on the steering wheel during green flag racing. 
Drivers will wear kill switch at all times mower is in motion.   
Tether style kill switch required. 
Chest protector highly recommended. 
Mower Build
Any commercially produced front engine, four wheel lawn mower.  Factory equipped transaxle type mowers or factory live axle.  Live axle must remain stock
Must have stock appearing hood, rear fenders, and other body panels. Front bumper may be no wider than frame rails.
Mower decks are optional. If deck is removed mower must have have full length running boards.
Blades must be removed. 
Glass headlights must be removed. 
Seat needs to be safely centered on mower.
Mower must have safe ground clearance. 
May lower mower to minimum of 4".  Measured at lowest point of main frame of mower.  Notching or frame or altering brackets to achieve ride height is ok.
Front and rear track width may not exceed 39”. 
May not offset front or rear axles. 
Front axle and spindles may be custom built.
Wheels on front spindles must be pinned, bolted or welded. 
Hub on rear axles must be pinned, bolted, or welded. 
Steering needs to be safely centered on mower. 
Must use hand throttle.
Throttle must automatically retract to closed position.

Must use v-belt from motor to transaxle.
No clutches of any kind, other than manual spring disengage pulley type.

Engines
Single cylinder engines only.  Lawn and Garden type engines only.
Completely stock OHV, 28 Cubic Inch or less with no modifications.
Any single cylinder Flathead, 13.5 hp or less with unaltered stock flywheel.
Stock camshaft only.
Stock carburetors only. No aftermarket.
Engine must start with electric starter or pull rope.
Flywheel cover must be secured for protection.
May remove or disconnect factory governor.
May use any air cleaner assembly.
May advance timing.
May use any exhaust header pointing downward and away.
Tires & Wheels
Turf and Racing treaded  tires only. No slicks.
May use steel or aluminum wheels.  
May run stagger between left and right side. No more than 2” allowed.

Full length pants required. 
Both hands are to remain on the steering wheel during green flag racing. 
Drivers will wear kill switch at all times mower is in motion.   
Tether style kill switch required. 
Chest protector highly recommended. 
Mower Build
Must resemble a lawn mower! 
Must have stock appearing hood, rear fenders, and other body panels.
Hood must be secured during operation. 
Mower decks are optional. 
Blades must be removed. 
Glass headlights must be removed. 
Seat needs to be safely centered on mower.
Mower must have safe ground clearance. 
May use front and rear bumper. Must be of tubular design. Rear must be no wider than rear track width and lower rail may be higher than frame rail. Front may be no wider than frame rails and lower rail may be no higher than frame rails. 
Front and rear track width may not exceed 45”. 
May not offset front or rear axles. 
Front axle may be custom built, with adjustable caster & camber. 
May run any style of final drive. Transaxle, transmission, or live axle. 
Steering needs to be safely centered on mower. 
Must use hand throttle.
Throttle must automatically retract to closed position.
Throttle cable must be secured and may not extend outside any part of mower. 
Brakes must be capable of stopping mower in a safe distance and manner. 
Engines
Any vertical or horizontal lawn/garden style motor up to 25 hp. 
Any internal or external modifications allowed. 
Must install scatter shield around  flywheel. 
May use any exhaust header pointing downward and away.
Any racing fuel or alcohol. 
Tires & Wheels
Turf and racing kart tires only. (All other will have to be track approved) 
Steel or aluminum wheels allowed.  
General
All mowers are subject to pretech and post tech.
